Zeeland East was the girls Division 2 champion with 964.5 points. “For the first time in school history Niles did both as we were ranked 12th and won our second straight regional.”
“There are 153 Division 2 schools and the only way to get invited is to win your regional championship or be ranked in the top 12 in the state,” Niles coach Tony Todd said. Zeeland West won the boys championship with 1,444.5 points, while Niles finished with 983 points. It was the Eddies first trip to the state team finals in 17 years.ĭespite hot and humid conditions, Niles and Edwardsburg turned in some outstanding performances. Edwardsburg finished 11th in the girls portion of the meet.
